Yoga Nidra is a powerful and transformative yet easily accessible practice. This easy practice requires no more than to lie down comfortably and listen. There is no way to do it wrong and the effects are powerful. Through the use of guided imagery, breath awareness and body scanning; Yoga Nidra helps alleviate not only muscular tension, but also mental and emotional stress, as those being guided switch on the parasympathetic nervous system – the relaxation response.
Yoga Nidra—known as Yogic Sleep—is a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation.
Yogic sleep is the perfect antidote for the demands we face in this time of frantic pace and nervous system over-stimulation. The practice of Yoga Nidra transfers you to a state of harmony, health and well-being.
Aside from being relaxing, restorative and restful, studies have shown that Yoga Nidra can also:
Ease insomnia
Decrease anxiety
Alleviate stress
Reduce PTSD, chronic pain and chemical dependency
Heighten awareness and focus
Transform negative habits, behaviors and ways of thinking
Foster feelings of peace, calm, and clarity
In this course you will learn about the energetic system of the Koshas, which we will use as the framework for creating our Yoga Nidra scripts and journeys. You will learn how to guide your students though the Koshas (or five layers of being) to a state of deep rest and relaxation.kvweee As they journey through up to 7 stages of the meditation they will tap into the subconscious and unconscious minds, and move towards the ultimate goal… remembering who they truly are as a human being and tasting bliss.
